About

The Carroll County Historical Society is a non-profit organization founded in 1964.  Its purpose is to discover, collect, and preserve whatever relates to Carroll County history, be it natural, civil, military, literary, or ecclesiastical.  Historical societies as collectors and custodians of records, books, and artifacts, play an important part in the preservation of our cultural heritage.  The society has endeavored to fulfill its purpose.

The society operates six historic buildings which house a diverse collection of artifacts not only representing our local heritage but also our American heritage.

The society is involved in educational activities.  These range from school tours of our museums for primary school visitors, living history programs at historical sites, public programming, exhibits, and publications.
