For all school-age groups… You will be able to cast a brief look at the life of an early settler in Northwest Illinois. You’ll visit an 1888 brick one-room schoolhouse, two 19th-century log cabins, a blacksmith shop, a granary, and butter making! Tours can be scheduled for Tuesday, May 5 th, through Friday, May 8th.

Oakville Settlement is situated between Chadwick and Mt. Carroll, and roughly one mile from Timberlake Playhouse at 8116 Oakville Road, Mt. Carroll, IL.
Additional Details
Depending on grade level, allow roughly one hour for the tour. There is one Port-a-Potty on site for use. The Historical Society is a non-profit organization; a fee of $4 per student and $6 per adult is requested upon arrival.
